Manjistha in Sanskrit means “bright red”. Considered an extremely important herb in Ayurveda, Manjistha has been traditionally known to have purifying and detoxifying abilities and is effective against the acne causing bacteria. Additionally, used topically, Indian Madder aids in reducing hyperpigmentation by inhibiting tyrosinase, the enzyme that controls melanin production.
